Hi internet! I am currently having a bit of a panic in regards to paying down my student loans, so I’m trying to devise means of earning some extra cash. I have a new job and am scraping by, but I recently moved and my minimum payments are over $500/month… And this is after paying one of them off already!

I’m getting closer to paying off another one (which would get my payments under $500), but it’s been increasingly hard to pay above the minimum payments.

I’m making an ETSY page right now to sell some of these paintings! Etsy charges to make listing, so please let me know which ones I should upload! Or if anyone doesn’t like Etsy, just contact me and we can arrange something privately. My original paintings are ATC/ACEOs, so 3.5” x 2.5”. This isn’t an official commission post but… but if someone is interested in commissioning an ATC portrait from me, I’m charging ~$25.00, free shipping within the US!

#78 Gouache. Was originally going for a more graphic style/paint-application, but I cannot resist the urge to make all facial orifices look like gaping flesh wounds. (I’m actually not trying to do a painting a day anymore, since it was getting in the way of other creative endeavors, so to speak. If I can do 200 paintings in 2012 I’ll still be literally 100x more productive than 2011. So I am still doing a lot of paintings!) Expect sketches and fake mouse limbs in near future. Seriously need to take care of this no internet thing.

3/13/12 - RIP Moebius (Jean Giraud) tribute. Gouache/ballpoint

The Electric Ant Zine blog has been doing a Moebius tribute based on a set of 89 collectors cards he did. The entire point of this daily(ish) painting thing is to re-evaluate what I’m doing and study and explore (a couple paintings from last week were actually Tintin color studies…), so it seemed like a great opportunity to study the work of a very talented and versatile artist.

I thought the composition in #26 TORPENICZEL CHOT was pretty interesting. Definitely a worthwhile exercise. Now go check-out what everyone else has been doing, there’s some really fabulous work over there.
